After being in business for 25 years, the time had come to retire and dispose of my business. With little or no support around me other than inside the company, and my accountants seriously letting me down, I was being offered scant reward for all my efforts over such a long period of time. In the autumn of 2008, our company was in financial difficulty, with banking and accounting issues, facing serious financial problems, possibly liquidation, which all happened at the same time as the recessionary storm. We are really optimistic and set for a steady future. Without any doubt, were it not for David, we would have lost everything we had built over all those years. David Stafford was engaged as a consultant by the business in 2007. It was a difficult time for the group as we were at the cross roads for the future in succession planning and at the same time unsure of the immediate future with overhead commitment balanced against potential acquisitions.
